The Articles Content Add-on Doesn't Allow Clicking On Links In The Article Title Text.

Best regards.

I'm using an Articles content add-on to display articles on the homepage of a module called "Business World"

The articles display fine, however, to open the article I have to click on the image.

If I try to click on the article title text, it displays as a link but doesn't go anywhere. I explored the Articles add-on options, but I don't see an option for link management.

I'd like to know if it's possible to open the article title text by clicking on the article title instead of the image. This is because modules other than SPPB5 work as expected.

My website is https://portalnews.co

Thank you for your kind collaboration.

Hi there!

Sorry for your experience.

I have just visited your website and the articles under "Business World" title working perfectly at my end. Please check the screencast video:

Kindly clear your browser cache deeply and check again. Let me know if it helps!

Best Regards

Hello Rashida, and thank you for your kind attention. I cleared the cache, temporary files, and everything else that needs to be done for testing, and no, it doesn't work.

I'm amazed to see that it works in the video and appears to be normal, but it doesn't work on my laptop or all-in-one.

Since we created that article module, the link in the article title has never worked, but clicking on the image does. So, I don't know what to do. I'd just not use that add-on because I need users to click on the article title, as with other modules, and not on the image. It's the only add-on that exhibits this strange behavior.

If you have a solution, it would be a great help.

Thank you and have a great day.

Hello Fernando Bautista,

Strange indeed!

Which cache did you clear please? I meant to say Browser cache. Or try in the incognito mode. And lastly check with a different fresh browser, even with a different laptop/device. Please let me know.

Best Regards

Hi Rashida.

I cleared both caches (first Joomla, then Chrome).

However, it works in incognito mode, so I don't understand what's going on.

I also tried it from a Lenovo all-in-one and the same thing. It doesn't work from a normal Chrome session, but it does from incognito mode.

Hello Fernando Bautista,

Did you try any other browser also along with the incognito mode, as I requested earlier?

It's more likely some sort of caching issue of your chrome browser, as you confirmed incognito mode works.

Clear Browser Cache:

Your browser may still be showing a cached version of the page. Try:

  1. Hard refresh (Ctrl + F5 or Cmd + Shift + R)

  2. Clear browser cache manually

How to Deep Clear Cache in Chrome

🔸 Step 1: Open Clear Browsing Data Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete (Windows/Linux) or Cmd + Shift + Delete (Mac)

This opens the "Clear browsing data" window

🔸 Step 2: Choose What to Clear In the popup:

Under the "Basic" tab: Time range: Select "All time"

Check:

✅ Cookies and other site data

✅ Cached images and files

Optional: Browsing history (only if you want to remove it)

(Optional: Go to the Advanced tab for deeper clearing) Check:

✅ Site Settings

✅ Hosted app data

✅ Media licenses (if relevant)

Passwords/autofill data — uncheck unless you want those cleared too

🔸 Step 3: Clear and Restart Click "Clear data"

Close all tabs/windows of Chrome

Restart Chrome fully

🔄 Force Reload Without Cache

After clearing cache, visit your Joomla site and do a hard reload:

Press Ctrl + F5 (Windows/Linux) or Cmd + Shift + R (Mac)

Best Regards

Hi, nothing worked, I think I'll change the addon for another one because the articles one is sometimes a bit problematic.

Hi,

Sorry to hear that.

Other fresh, new browsers didn't work?

It's so strange. It doesn't work on my computer, not even incognito or anything, but other users say it works on other computers with different internet connections.

I'll leave it at that, let's close the thread. Thank you very much for your kind cooperation.
