Hello, is it possible to add an element to SPPagebuilder showing a preview of another homepage? I asked Nia and it answerd:

This sounds very good, but i cant find the "Page Preview" element from the list of available elements.

Hello Paul, thank you for your fast answer and your ideas to achieve this, yes much smarter you are :)

I was hoping there was an easier way to include a link to another home page with a nice (static) preview. We want to list some places in the neighborhood where you can dispose of different things or donate. Wouldn't that be a good idea for a new Link Addon?

For example, one would only need to provide the URL and one could then choose one of the images available there and the link and description of the page could be automatically pulled from the site. And you get a nice card with a link. After all, there are always different pages that you would like to link to and normal text links are just not that pretty and appealing. Just an idea ;)

Hi,

AI didn't understand your question.

  1. You need to use RAW HTML addon and iframe code to display Other Website URL.
  2. Or use Custom Joomla module with iframe code then used inside Module addon.

Option No3.

  • a. Use Menu item type Wrapper > Iframe Wrapper
  • b. Then SPPB content display as SPPB module - below / above component (1) view

I think I am still smarter than AI Nia.

In general < iframe > method is not recommended becuase of security reasons. There are other methods - check on forum.joomla.org or research on google/bing for phrase "iframe alternative".

2nd - sorry, not fully understand your concept. In SPPB you can find & use:

  • Button addon
  • Modal addon

Maybe one of them can help, check their features. If not, you may need a custom solution. It may be worth it - if you have the funds for this project.

Or maybe you need additional component, like My Maps location (JoomUnited) or different one. Becuase Page Builder is mostly for "static" separate pages, hence my suggestion.

This topic goes beyond JoomShaper support. I helped as I could.
