Error After Upgrade To Joomla 4

Hi there

After Upgrade to Joomla 4 this error comes:

Warning: require_once(.../administrator/components/com_easyfrontendseo/helpers/Helper.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in .../plugins/system/easyfrontendseo/easyfrontendseo.php on line 193 Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required '.../administrator/components/com_easyfrontendseo/helpers/Helper.php' (include_path='.:/opt/RZphp74/includes') in .../plugins/system/easyfrontendseo/easyfrontendseo.php on line 193

What I have to do?

I tried to import a backup via the backend of the hoster, but that doesn't seem to work. Three times I tried this... I get no help from the hoster (strato from Germany). I know it has something to do with easyfrontendseo. Can I just delete the files and then install again in the backend?

Thank you Domi

Hi Toufiq

I was able to fix the error. Frontend works. But now I get a new error when I try to log into the backend:

Error: Call to undefined method Joomla\CMS\Application\AdministratorApplication::getInput(): Call to undefined method Joomla\CMS\Application\AdministratorApplication::getInput()

I can't figure out what to do.

I cannot get it, but can you make small changes in configuration.php file, in those lines must be:

public $debug = true;
public $error_reporting = 'maximum';

edit file, make changes, save changes, and then preview admin area to see more details.

In general, we don't help in Joomla 3>4 Upgrade problems. Because in most cases the problems are related to additional extensions, old plugins, admin modules and components incompatible with Joomla 4.

  1. Check error logs on hosting panel.
  2. What extra extensions you have installed?
  3. What SPPB version you have installed?

Hi Paul

The following error occurs several times in the error logs: 08/31/2023 00:23:53 wasatec.de [client 23.99.69.0] AH00124: Request has exceeded the limit of 4 internal redirects due to a probable configuration error. Use 'LimitInternalRecursion' to increase the limit if necessary. Use 'LogLevel debug' to get a backtrace.

I have called support, but they can't help me. The limit of 4 redirects cannot be increased.

I have not installed any extra extensions to my knowledge.

I have had version SPPB Pro 3.8.10 installed.

Hard to say, becuase both Helix Ultimate and SPPB 3.8 can work in Joomla 4.3. Even I have my own site on it. You will probably have to do migrations all around, exporting data and using clean Joomla 4 installation. No one from the Joomla developer team said that migrations are easy.

As last resort you can also ....

  1. Recover website from Joomla 3.10 backup (when all worked)
  2. Disable all extra installed component and plugins
  3. Then upgrade again to Joomla 4.3
  4. After you can turn them (3) - one by one again.

I still found out that I can call the frontend editor with the exact path information:

https://www.wasatec.de/index.php/edit/1

That works, but in the backend only the message comes:

The template for this display is not available!

At least the debug mode works now. However, this is beyond my capabilities. Can you help me there?

BTW

For users with Joomla 3>4 upgrade problems there is "MigrateMe4" extension, paid - maybe you should consider that. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=MigrateMe4
