There's no denying it, Helix3 is an old template for the moment. Only Helix Ultimate has Google Analytics new ID field. In all Helix3 based templates you have copy whole HTML code from GA generator and paste inside Custom Code --> Before < / Head >

You can use the following methods:

Template (Helix) Options > Custom Code > Header -- put your code there* OR

Install Google Analytics Plugin from JED (Joomla Extension Directory), put your ID and publish. And, also could you kindly check out the blog link below?

Probably you don't have raw Helix Ultimate, but template based on it.

Anyway, listen our advices that you already got.
