Google Analytics Code In Helix Ultimate

Hi

I need to activate Google Analytics on a website. That requires a Google Tag (gtag.js) script to be pasted immediately after the [head] element.

Helix Ultimate allows me to enter custom code in the following areas:

  1. Before [head]
  2. After [body]
  3. Before [body]
  4. Custom CSS
  5. Custom Java Script

How do I get the code entered immediately after the [head] element? I tried no 3 above but it went below a lot of other code and had no effect on the website.

Regards,

Francois

Hi Francois,

If you have Helix Ultimate installed as default template - all you have to do is paste short tracking ID (not html code!!) in Advanced tab > Analytics

If your template do NOT have such a field, you have still two options:

  1. Use field Before < / head > (this is also correct for GA)
  2. Or download & install free Phoca Site plugin (phoca.cz)

That's all I can say.

In general it should work, for Google Analitics > choose "Universal Analitics"

You can always use method (2) from my list.

Thank you Paul. I installed Phoca Site plugin and now it works. Now I can see the google code inside my site pages.
