The template Helix Ultimate is creating the following error "Call to a member function get() on null" Changing the teplate back to Protostar resolves the problem. I have tried disabling all modules and reinstalling Helix Ultimate 2.0.17

Hello Adrian, as already mentioned in the other related topic, I have tested and upgraded 2 different local test installations. J!3 and J!4. Both have misc 3rd-party extensions. I have updated from HU2.0.11 and 12. Than did a manual installation of 2.0.16 from the Github files. I had no other installer on my machine. Then I used the latest 2.0.17 installers. In J!3 I uploaded them via drag n drop. In J!4 I have used the update manager. Everything works fine here. No clue, why you are having trouble.

What else is on your installation? What were your last steps? What is your server environment/versions? etc.

Always try to enable Joomla Error Reporting. Set it to MAX. Reload and check your page and your browser console for more error details, please.

ive tried joomla error reporting in maximum and development but there are no errors displayed

Im running Joomla 3.10.12 on PHP 7.4.33 and MySQLi 5.5.5-10.6.15 MariaDB I have tried PHP 8.0 anf 8.1 to no avail

There are no errors that make sense logged in C-Panel just 500 errors when the page loads wich aligns with the error displayed "Call to a member function get() on null"

I'm convinced its a problem with Helix because the website works just fine when I changing the template to either of the standard Joomla ones. The problem started last night after Helix framework and template were updated to 2.0.17

I have fixed the problem - There is definatly an issue inside Helix Ultimate 2.0.17

I tried to do a fresh Joomla 3.10.12 install and installed the helix 2.0.17 and got the exatct same error.

Reading other issues people are having I came across oem where Paul Frankowski suggested installing helix_ultimate_plugin_pkg_2.0.16.zip

I did that and the problem went away - So there is some difference between the 2 plugins that causes the website to fail. Its very repeatable - Intsall Helix ultimate 2.0.17 and the front end breaks - Install plugin 2.0.16 and it works again - Intsall Helix ultimate 2.0.17 and the front end breaks - Install plugin 2.0.16 and it works again

In few topics , and also here: https://www.joomshaper.com/forum/question/28653

It's a good webmaster habit to keep older versions (templates, plugins, and extensions) in case of emergency. At least from last 6 months.
