Odd Error

SP Page Builder 1 year ago

Trying to work on localhost XAMPP but cant because none of the SP Pagebuilder pages work. Every one of them have the same error.

0 Failed opening required 'C:\xampp\htdocs\headnew\components\com_sppagebuilder\parser./../helpers/helper.php' (include_path='.;C:\php\pear')

I have checked to see if this happens on the defaul Cassiopeia template and get the same error, so it is not the Gantry template I am using and no one else that has reported this error to you has a solution that fits or resolves this issue for me.

Here is my setup.

XAMPP - PHP 8.2 Joomla 4.4.1 SP Pagebuilder 3.8.10

Question piles up, I uploaded the site to my server running the identical config as XAMPP and it runs fine. So what is causing it to fail on localhost? Worth noting as well, this only affects Joomla 4 running PHP 8.2 and runs fine on Joomla 3.x and PHP 7.4 on localhost.

Thinking this was a PHP config issue I went through both the online server and XAMPP ini files and they are near identical. So its not a PHP config or module issue that I can detect. Could this be some issue with how XAMPP has setup Apache? Would love to resolve this since working on localhost is far faster than dealing with building these sites online.

Hi Kevin,

as you know we are not XAMPP support.

But I'll tell you one thing: SPPB 3.8.10 was mostly developed for PHP 7.4, PHP 8.0 and 8.1. And as you can read in SPPB documenation, we stopped developing it. The last update was 6 months ago (!)

Thanks Paul, thing is 3.8.10 works on PHP 8.x as is testimate that it works on my server. Problem I have is the replacement version you have built to replace 3.8.10 stinks! I do thank you for giving me control to edit on the backend that was removed in your 4.0 version but now when I go to edit a page I am forced to do all my work in a thin edge of the browser while the majority of the page sets there and wastes space. No clue what the idea is putting the entire edit section into something akin to building the website on a mobile phone, but its ignorant at best! Doing that is really just thumbing your nose up at those of us that was not happy we was forced to edit on the frontend.

I will figure this out on my own. Thanks for stating the obvious!

SPPB 4.0 is also not supported.

SPPB 5.x has back-end and front-end editor.

Yes, I am refering to 5.x. When I click to add a page addon and go to edit it, I have to make all my edits in this tiny sliver of space on the right side of the page. Why? That leaves 80% of the browser I am working in just dead space and it makes zero sense to me. Like I said I may as well start building websites on a mobile phone because that seems to be how it is setup to be used and its just dumb. Not only that but when I am editing something all the styles only offer functionality for laptops, tablets, and mobile devices. So what, normal computers no longer exist in your world or what?

You don't have to... just can click [...] icon and then there is [arrows] icon to make window full width
