SP Pagebuilder Data Export/import

SP Page Builder 1 year ago

Hello

I tried to update an outdated website based on Joomla 3 and SP Pagebuilder 3 to Joomla 4/5 and SP Pagebuilder 5. Unfortunately it does not work because the PHP/My SQL version does not match, old extensions and templates etc.

I have tested several different upgrade paths and made all extensions compatible, but in the end nothing worked.

Now I'm wondering if I should do a fresh install from scratch and migrate the data afterwards.

Is it possible to export the SP Pagebuilder data from the old website and import it into the new website with current software versions?

Thank you

Regards, Rene

Hi Rene,

In general yes, you have two ways to export-import pages:

  1. Page by page, inside each page there is "Export" button that allows you save page as .json file, then import it.
  2. Or using PHPMyAdmin to export prefix_sppagebuiler table and import on 2nd site, faster.

Thank you Paul for your answer.

As the old SP Pagebuilder is corrupt, I can't access anymore the pages and exported/imported the prefix_sppagebuiler table. After that I copied the images from the old website to the new fresh installed site and now I don't know how to migrate the templates and menues. Can you help me on that too? Thank you very much

Regards, Rene

About migration of template and menus

  1. Template - just install that same template as you had, then on the old site Export Settings (Advanced tab) and Import on the new site, in Template Options > Advacned there is option to import file.
  2. About Menu items structure, not so easy. For sure beyond Joomshaper support.
