Error When Updating SP PB From V4 To V5

I updated my development site from SP PB V4.0.11 to V5.2.5. I got an error "Call to undefined method BuilderAutoload::loadHelperClasses()" (see screenshot attached).

SP PB V5 seems to work on a quick test, however I'm unsure what problems this error might cause someday, sometime. Please advise.

Joomla 4.4.2

PHP 8.1

Helix Ultimate 2.0.18

You can try a different approach this time. Uninstall SP Page Builder and then install the Pro version. You must keep a backup before doing it.

Hello, I restored the system to the pre-update state, then tried the update through:

  1. System -> Update -> Extentensions. The update did not report an error, but is looks as if the free version, not the pro version of SP PB was installed. I do not have the Settings -> License

  2. I restored the system again

  3. I installed the V5.2.5 package through System -> Install -> Extenstions. The error re-reappeared. But this time, the license was properly taken over.

Please tell me what additional information you need. I'm going to restore the system again, as I cannot be sure the error will lead to problems in the future.

Thanks Peter

Sorry for the delay. I did as instructed, and the error did not appear. I had to reinstall the license, though. Is there anything I need to do manually because it was lost by the uninstall?

No data is actually lost and you do not need to do anything. It is just a refresh button you can think of.

Please accept the answer that helped you. It will be then easier to find the solution for the other users with the same issue. There is a button to accept answer after each comment.

Hi, You advised me how to resolve the error when updating SP PB from V4.0.11 to V5.2.5 on my development site.

I now tried to do the same update on the production site. I first tried to install V5 over V4, and got the same error. This was kind of expected. I then uninstalled V4 and installed V5.2.5.

This installed SP PB with no error BUT the page's margins are not correct. They are much narrower than what I had defined and what I do see on the development site. What is causing the different margins when looking at the pages after the update?

You have to adjust the margins manually. There are lots of changes from SP Page Builder 4 to 5. So, I can't say what causes this.
