HI Angelos,
this is free component, using it is very easy. Just add images one by one, but first create category and tags that's create filter.

I'm a joomla expert. But some of joomshaper extentions has problems.

Hmm, if yes you would know that in some templates components are overriden modified not only using CSS but also php code. Your question was too general to know what you know and what not. On page from your link we used Tabs addon (SPPB) not SP Simple Portfolio component.
About 2nd I will not comment. You are going too far, More distance to the World.
