Helix Ultimate is Slowing Down My Website Tremendously

Helix Framework 1 week ago

I have a website which is mainly built on a combination of Helix Ultimate and SP Page Builder. (www.deijsmannetjes.nl)

I have problems getting the mobile performance of the site (as measured with Lightspeed) right. The LCP is always too high. I did some tests and it seems that the problem is Helix Ultimate. I have 2 test pages on my website (https://www.deijsmannetjes.nl/test1 and https://www.deijsmannetjes.nl/test). Both are idential and only contain 1 mage and the menu. For 1 I am using Helix ultimate, for the other the standard Casseopia template that is included in Joomla.

The mobile performance of the Casseopia page is typically 86, with an LCP time of 2.5 seconds. The performance of the Helix page is typically 66, with an LCP time of 5.6 seconds!!

Is Helix soo slow, or am I doing something wrong?

I still have problems with this too. I'm curious, Joomshaper will answer you.

I am also interested in the answer, these are the two star products of Joomshaper and they do not pass the download speed tests, no matter how much the CSS and scripts are compressed. One solution is to use custom CSS for all parameters and some third party plugin for optimization. Improving the performance of these two products is essential.

@Toufiq, is there any update to the Helix Framework planned with any new features, especially in the customization of the header and menus?

Thank you

@lluis , Helix update is planned for May, but I didn't see Header & Menu new customization features for next update. But changes in that area are planned in general.

@H , Indeed, in most cases we recommend using extra optimization/cache extension, for example, very popular JCH_Optimze (FREE/PRO). Speed Up process is long, requires knowledge, and a lot of testing in between steps. But it's possible to get score >90.

Extra tip! If you don't use Animations in SPPB, you can disable loading animate.min.css file from SPPB Settings, check what options you have there. Also SPPB documenation may help (Production Mode etc).

I am using JCH Optimize. What settings would you recommend to get the best possible performance with helix and SPPb on mobile?

We are not JCH_Optimize support to help you will settings.

But I will give you that tip: you have to check if all works as it should if you will use, for example, those options (Premium & Optimum from section "Combine Files Automatic Settings"). The risky ones are "Advanced Features".

Helix Ultimate + SPPB 5.3 works with PHP 8.3, and this version has higher performance compared to PHP 8.1/8.2.

What I do not understand is the big diufference in LCP between the desktop and mobile version of a page.

My frontpage (www.deijsmannetjes.nl) uses (for the big opening image) different rows for desktop nad mobile. And the differences in LCP are huge (1.6 vs 5 seconds) . Here you see the detailed output from Lighthouse. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/td4623honnavmkh9osfeb/desktop.png?rlkey=44uv4oi6wf45dpsvl5v61qq8u&dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/yoh64bg8leso6gtwo71w5/mobile.png?rlkey=b063rj1wh3slildvrde7cmy12&dl=0

Please translate and read that guide: https://www.pozycjonusz.pl/czym-jest-lcp-google-czynnik-rankingowy/

on the forum we cannot change any php code, SPPB nor Helix itself.

I know most if this. With JCH Optimizer I have tried to minimize it.

But I do not understand the big difference that SP Pagebuilder creates between the desktop and the mobile version. That cannot be caused by the various imporvements that the Polish page list, as these improvements apply to both mobile and desktop versin (correct?).
