But to hide fields like Confirm Password or Confirm Email Address - yes, you have to edit, for example, templates\shaper_newskit\html\com_users\registration\default.php

Have you enabled plugin User - Profile - disable it or check what options you enabled inside.

Or Have you installed any other extension with User Custom Fields? Search in Plugins using phrase "User"

In that case You should set ReCaptcha v2 Invisible or v3 in Joomla + install AntySpam extenion + lock IP access for selected conutries

Spam is the WORLD GLOBAL problem.

Registration is from Joomla itself, it means that you can use Joomla core plugin "User - Profile" for that task.

Check what it has inside settings area, and use first part "User profile fields for registration ..."

And yes, lock some countries IP. Ask Hosting Provider how.

i rather prefer to set up a honeypot field, would you please tell where to add it?
