Tables - Basic Settings - Columns

Hello Team, working with the tables addon in the builder, i did not fnd out, how to sort the number of colums.
I am able to add or delete items in the header section - to in the header i am able to "set" the number of columns .. (i thought)
But in the rows below, nothing changes. If i delete all heading-itmens in a column (for example all in the mosts right column), the column ia already there and in frontend i have not a vertical correct sight of the columns (number of items) directed to the number of colums below. I also cannot drag and drop contents inside the table-cells - bug or feature?
Where is set the number of colums ? Thank you

Currently i am struggeling in setting up a table, where a few cells in row 1 are as two colums. The colums are not fitting. I tested to work with the colums span numbers iside cell settings, but there is no result ...
