1. Sorry, but it's not planned for this year.
2. Use extra extension that will backup SPPB table (prefix_sppagebuilder) from website database automatically on a regular basis (for example every day at 12:00 and/or 18:00). Akeeba Backup (Pro) allows that, use two options: "Database Tables Exclusion" and "Schedule Automatic Backups".
   Or you need custom extension with more advanced rules.

As you see there is working solution already.
