Popup Problems In Helix Ultimate (no PageBuilder)

Hi there,
just building a advent calendar as a module, which should run on Joomla 5 and Helix Ultimate Template (no Page Builder), either as an article or module on the right. After installing an configuring details for üublishing, I'm running into some problems, which I can't solve.
According to the developer console, all code and css is loaded, but:
- Close button doesn't work
- even when setting z-index to an extreme high value, the popup content is in front, but only the content in the background scrolls (scrollbar of the popup doesn't show either)
I suppose it's a z-index problem, as all standard content doesn't use a z-index in Helix Ultimate.
Matter ist fckn urgent as you may guess. Have to get this thing running untill evening of 30 Nov.
