Hi,

I have 2 sties on the same server one I have successfully installed the Orbit qucik start including Joomla 4.4.1. the next, no matter what I do I cannot ge tthe database to connect, it just says 'database error'.

Whislt both on the same server, there is one difference. The site that will not install is using a Clouflare DNS. I mention this because I read online that someone had a simialr issue but did not see how they reoslved it. not sure it is even the problem I have but clearly, when one scuessfull site install (and other non Joomlashaper site installed on the same server), I am ding everything right.

Any ideas? on the www.g0ksc.co.uk site there is an 'old' installation which I will replace. the new installation will go into a sub folder until completed.

Hello Justin,

Thank you for reaching out, and I apologize for the inconvenience. Since the issue persists despite using the same server, I recommend the following steps:

  • Create a New Database: Set up a completely fresh database with new credentials for the installation.
  • Disable Cloudflare Temporarily: Pause Cloudflare or bypass it during installation to rule out DNS-related issues.
  • Verify Database Host: Ensure the correct database host (localhost or as provided by your host) is used. If the issue continues, let me know, and I’ll assist further. Thank you for your patience.

Best regards

Hi,

I have created many new databases, same issue applies. With regard to disabling cloudflare - how do you propose doing that? other then the draastic move to switching to and reconfiguring another, standard DNS I am not sure how this would be acheived and additionally, this would be a rather drastic move so hopefully can be avoided.

The databases is fine, exaclty the same as the secont installation using Oribt on another domain on the same server on the same day.

Dear Justin

Thank you for your detailed explanation, and I apologize for the inconvenience caused.

To investigate further, could you kindly provide server login access? This will allow us to identify and resolve the issue more effectively. If needed, I can also guide you on securely sharing the credentials.

Thank you for your cooperation, and I look forward to your response.

Best regards

Hi Atick,

Thanks for your answer and offer of help. Is it Plesk level access you need? and where would I need to send these details?

Apologies for the inconvenience. As you mentioned, one site was successfully installed (along with another non-JoomShaper site on the same server). Could you please confirm which Joomla version was used for the successful installation? I created a subfolder named "joomla" and attempted to install the core Joomla 4, but I am still encountering the same issue. I suspect this might be a database version compatibility problem.
