SP Easy Image Gallery Thumbnails Cuts My Images

On a site with Helix and SPPB, I just installed SP Easy image gallery, but my thumbnails cut my images. They are not resized.
I also noticed that the options "Thumnail width" and height, don't change anything. Only the parameters of the menu link can change the display (number of columns ...).
Why ?
Lastminute : It looks like we have to upload ALL the pictures in the proportions selected in the options for the thumbnails, for all the galleries. Not very practical, because we lose time to change the proportions on all the images, one by one, and then we can't have different proprtions on different galleries (square, or rectangle).

Accepted AnswerThanks. That's what I did. But I confirm : it would have been MUCH easier and faster if the component would resize the thumbnail to contain all the image in the sizes selected in the options. An idea to suggest to the developers I think.
