Hi I just installed SP LMS.

When savie a new course I get the following error message

An error has occurred. 0 Joomla\CMS\Form\Field\TextareaField::filter field shortdescription calls a deprecated filter class JComponentHelper, the class needs to be namespaced use \Joomla\CMS\Component\ComponentHelper instead or activate the backward compatible plugin.

What can I do?

Best regards Thomas

Hi Thomas,

Thank you for reaching out, and I am sorry for the inconvenience.

To resolve this promptly, could you kindly provide Joomla administrator access? This will help us investigate thoroughly. Please back up your site using Akeeba Backup before sharing credentials in hidden content.

Thank you for your cooperation and I’ll update you as soon as possible!

Best Regards

Thank you, that's very kind.

TESTSTEPS:

  1. goto https://desk.de/administrator/index.php

  2. fill in superuser credentials.

  3. goto Components/SP LMS/Courses

  4. click "+ New"

  5. fill in required filds:

  • "myCourse"
  • "myShort"
  • "myLong"
  1. Click "Save&Close"

EXPECTATION myCourse is in list of courses

ACTUAL RESULT: Error message is shown

FAIL: Same applies with all SP LMS Objects like "myTeacher", "myLessons", ...

Best regards and many thanks for your time and effort! Thomas

p.s.: feel free you cannot crash it's been setup anew

Hi Thomas,

The SP LMS component may have had a corrupted installation. I have reinstalled the latest version, and everything is now working fine. Please check it and let me know if you encounter any issues.

Tips for You:
If you're new to SP LMS, I recommend checking out the Edulif quickstart package on a local installation. This will help you understand how courses are configured and organized within the SP LMS component. It's a fully functional Joomla course management system and can serve as a great reference for redesigning your site.

You can explore it here:
Edulif Template

Feel free to reach out if you have any further questions.

Best regards
