Nectar Template – Replace User Section With Search Module In Top Bar

Dear JoomShaper Support,

I’m using the Nectar template for a new project. Initially, I planned to build a full e-commerce website, but during the development process, I decided to change the concept.

The site will now be focused on offering hatching eggs and day-old chicks, all made-to-order via a non-binding reservation form, rather than a traditional online store. Therefore, I no longer need the e-commerce functionality and will instead build the site using SP Page Builder only.

However, I would still like to continue using the Nectar template. My issue is this:

In the top bar, on the right side, there is a section that seems to be dedicated to user login or user profile. I would like to remove this user section completely and replace it with a search module instead.

Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to locate where this user section is rendered or controlled.

Could you please help me identify how to:

Remove or disable the user section in the top bar,

Replace it with a Joomla module position (e.g., for a search module).

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Hi,

are you 100% sure that you talk about top-bar, not header?

Becuase from what I see on our demo, we used basket and Sign-in in "menu" position that is 2nd column in header.

Anyway,

Joomla Admin > Module Manager > Filter by position "menu", and you will find all used there modules. You can disable them, and publish your own module(s).

Tip for next time :)

In Helix Ultimate based templates "top-bar" is always a section above the "header". By default it has postions "top1" and "top2". And that section is not always used. The Header include at least two positions: "logo" and "menu", sometimes extra one after menu. Please remember.

Hi,

thanks for your quick reply.

That was actually the first place I checked. There are only two modules assigned to the menu position: – one is the active shopping cart, – and the other is a disabled search module.

There is no user/login module published there. I also couldn’t find any related setting in the template configuration.

I suspect the user section is placed somewhere else, possibly hardcoded or assigned via some template override or special layout. If I can't locate it, I'll probably have to hide it using CSS, but I’d really prefer to remove it properly if possible.

Could you please advise where exactly it is defined or rendered?

I found it – it was just the “Enable Login” setting in the template. Disabling it did the trick :)
