It looks that was some issues with your existing installation, during update maybe? Some important component files are missing.

yes, FTP is needed to fix it.

Or you can upload component files alone if you know Joomla a little bit better.

I could not restore the backup. Deleted all files en restored again with succes. Now it works again..
