Error Message When Updating SP Page Builder Pro

SP Page Builder 3 months ago

Hi,

on some of the websites I am maintaining, I run into the following error message when updating SP Page Builder Pro via the Joomla Update system:

Error connecting to the server: 403 Before updating ensure that the update is compatible with your Joomla! installation. You are strongly advised to make a backup of your site's files and database before you start updating. danger Failed to download package. Download it and install manually from https://www.joomshaper.com/index.php?option=com_product&task=download.download&package=release&id=10306.

On other websites (some of them even hosted at the same hosting company!) it works fine.

How can this issue be fixed? Clearing cache etc. does not help.

Thanks, Ben

Hi Ben,

Relax and try manual update: download from our site and install to update.

Maybe traffic was huge and ... delays. Happends, even youtube etc. have "Rush hours"

Hi Paul,

thanks for your reply. After 3 days of relaxing I tried again, and the update for SPPB still fails for one website. For other websites (hosted at the same provider), they update is going through without issues.

I am of course aware of the manual update. I am just wondering why one page has issues with the automatic update, while others have not (hosted at the same provider!).

Best regards, Ben

I don't know Ben, download link is the same for all websites, as you said hosting the same, server settings similar or the same.

Maybe only that Joomla has moods ;p

Like my Chrome browser that stopped auto-updates a few weeks ago, and I have to download file and update manually since then. I'm not complaining, I'm just saying that the IT World is not 01.

Next time, do not wait, and just upload a new version manually.
