Template Helix Ultimate - Multilingual Menus Not Working At Position Mainmenu

Hello,

I am using Joomla 5. 3.2. and the template Helix Ultimate

I want to create a multilingual site - Main: Luxembourgish, and: English, French and German

the Luxembourgish menu is shown at position Mainmenu, but the English, French and German menus are not shown at position Mainmenu in the template helix Ultimate.

I have changed the position to Right for French and German, on my test site www.ottele.lu – there these menus are shown; the English menu, which stayed at position Mainmenu, is white.

Other multilingual menus are working fine at position Right.

Is there something special with the position Mainmenu ?

Many thanks in advance for any help!

Hi Ottele,

yes. Whole guide >> https://www.joomshaper.com/documentation/helix-framework/multilingual-site

In big short,

  1. you have to make Duplicate of your template, for each language, and:
  2. Change Menu used for that template (in Template Options > Menu)
  3. And assign each template to different menu items, menu in DE, FR etc.

If you have 3 languages you need:

  1. Template - default (for your main language) - for example EN
  2. Template clone (1) - for German
  3. Template clone (2) - for French

Dear Paul,

Many thanks for your help!

I have tried now multipling the templates:

Menu:

But there is no difference. On my test site www.ottele.lu there are still no main menus for English, French and German at position Mainmenu.

The need of multipling the templates would not explain why my other multilingual menus are working fine at position Right (even without multipling the templates).

There must be a problem with the position Mainmenu... but which?

Kind regards,

JM

No problem with the code, only with the settings. Have you set different menu (FR,DE,EN) for each template, as I told you in step2 yesterday.

Hello Paul,

many thanks for your help.

Yes. its my first Multilingual website with the Joomla system. The others have been made with Falang. I wanted to try the Joomla Multilingual website system becaus I want to reduce the number of plugins.

In the Joomla Multilingual website system I have realized multilingual menus and modules working fine at position Right even without multipling the templates. But I don't get multilingual menus at position Mainmenu. ...

many thanks for any help.

Kind regards, jm

OK, done, but ...

  • French menu is too long, and it doesn't fit to header (!) move 5 or 6 items as submenu items.
  • You have a few menus twice ? what for? Please reduce mess.

Dear Paul,

Many thanks for your help!

The French main - menu has the same size as the others main menus. The rail.lu - menus are the long menus (at position right).

I have now renamed some menus and redone modules and menus and associations, but the Luxembourgish and French main menu aren't still showing at position Mainmenu...

many thanks for any help.

Kind regards, jm
