Subject: SP Page Builder 5.7.0 – Layout Import fails with “Something wrong there”
Dear Support Team,
I renewed my subscription for Page Builder Pro and now I wanted to use one of your Layout Bundles.
I am currently using SP Page Builder 5.7.0 on a Joomla 5 installation. Unfortunately, I am experiencing issues when trying to import layouts using the built-in layout library (SPPB Connect).
Every time I attempt to import a layout from the official template collection, I receive the error message:
“Something wrong there”
Here is a summary of what I’ve already verified and tested:
✅ upload_tmp_dir is set and writable (/tmp is configured correctly)
✅ PHP version is 8.2+ with all required extensions (zip, curl, json, etc.)
✅ SP Page Builder reinstalled (version 5.7.0)
✅ Joomla system cache is disabled for debugging
✅ Error reporting is set to Maximum, debug mode is enabled
✅ File and folder permissions are all set correctly (755)
✅ ZIP layout imports from local exports work fine
✅ cleared my browser and Joomla cache
❌ But layout library imports via SPPB Connect always fail
Using the browser's developer tools (Network tab), I can see the failing request:
GET /administrator/index.php?option=com_sppagebuilder&task=/editor.import&type=template&_method=get → HTTP 500
I also tested the SPPB API URL:
https://sppagebuilder.com/api/layouts
… but it currently returns 404 Not Found.
Could you please advise:
Is the layout library currently offline or undergoing maintenance?
Is there a workaround or patch for SPPB 5.7.0 to make template imports work again?
Thank you in advance for your help.
Best regards,
Chester
