SP Easy Image Gallery - Leftover After Upgrade To Joomla 4 (5,6)

Extension 1 month ago

Hello, after the upgrade from Joomla 3 to 4 (and following 5 and 6), there is still a small leftover from the SP Easy Image Gallery , under "System" - "Discover". Please see screenshot https://imgur.com/a/jWfavyh. Maybe some file or database entry. When trying to install it, it shows this error: "Error! 0 You must specify a non-empty path to clean" How can we get rid of this? URL: https://dev.lautundluisa.at/ Thank you

Hi Mia,

The answer is simple: Not all extensions are Joomla 6.0 ready. And won't be in next days.

Solution: Disable if you don't use it, or revert to Joomla 5.x and wait for offcial update of all used extensions.

Tip for the future: Before you make upgrade to Joomla 6. Just check on extension developer sites if used by you extension(s) & template has been updated for planned Jx version. It takes a few extra minutes, but fewer silver hairs on the head. Don't trust Joomla Installer Tester in 100%, correct that info manually each time in changelog etc.

BTW

Using Joomla 6.0.0 for production site, not the best idea. Better wait for J6.0.1.

Hi Paul,

we updated it only on a development copy, not on the live site, so no prob for us to wait for upcoming releases, thank you for clarifying in this matter, and for the tipp to wait for J6.0.1 too. Beside the discover message in the BE, it seems to works without probs on the FE.

Thank you!

As I receive the quick information today, we will test and change the code if necessary in the SP Easy Image Gallery component in November.

Please, if you want to test (Beta), but make sure that plugin "Behaviour - Backward Compatibility 6"is enabled with two ON inside.
