Hotspots Component Doesn't Display

Hi, I am nearly done cutting over to Helix Ultimate, from a Rockettheme template. But one major issue remains; The compojoom Hotspots component doesn't display correctly. You can still see what it is supposed to look like at the Rockettheme Map menu item, and what it looks like in Helix Ultimate at the Map JS menu item. Hopefully you can point me in the right direction to fix this. Thanks

Pim

Hi Pim,

Apolozy for the delayed response due to the weekend time.

The template copy dedicated to that menu item wasn’t necessary. The issue occurred because the template had the “Compress JavaScript Files” option enabled (screenshot: https://prnt.sc/0phWbvUuJfx3), which was causing the problem. I have disabled that option, and the issue is now resolved.

Regarding the image alignment issue, I’ve added some custom CSS to ensure that both the flag images and social icons are displayed horizontally and centered as intended. Please check and confirm if everything looks correct on your end.

Best regards

Hello Pim,

Sorry for the inconvenience you're experiencing with the Hotspots component.

To help me investigate this issue directly, could you grant me temporary administrative access to your site? This would allow me to thoroughly examine the configuration.

Before providing credentials, please ensure you create a full backup of your site for data security.

Looking forward to your response.

Best regards

Hi Atick, Thanks for your help!

I also tried a template duplicate, assigned specifically to the Map JS menu item, but can't make it work there either.

See credentials below

Hello Pim,

Sorry for the inconvenience you're experiencing with the Hotspots component.

To investigate this further, would it be possible to take a full backup of your site to check the issue on my local machine?

Looking forward to your response.

Best regards

Will do Atick, thanks.

I am in the process of making a full Akeeba backup.

How do I get the backup to you? Can I upload it somewhere?

Thanks Pim

Awesome Atick, thank you!

I always want to learn, so maybe you can tell me how you fixed it, so I would know where to look when something like this happens again? Did I even need the template copy dedicated to this menu item?

Also, I noticed another issue with how some parts of my Joomla articles are displayed using the Helix Ultimate template. So, while you still have the backup on your local machine maybe you can take a look at that for me as well?

All pages have a row of icons towards the bottom of the page between the museum info (address etc) and the google map location. These icons link to website and social media pages of the museum. They should be displayed horizontally and centered, but in Helix they are displayed vertically and left aligned.

Also right below the museum ship picture there are images of flags, showing the ships callsign when it was in active duty. These flags were also displayed horizontally and centered between the picture and the textual callsign, but are now displayed vertically and left aligned. As this is the case on over 500 pages, I really hope you have a fix for this! Here are some examples on i.e. the USS Alabama page and the SS Rotterdam page. Thanks so much!

Hi Atick, I didn't expect an answer over the weekend.

Works great, thanks for the explanations, and I assume this is the code snippet in custom.css that I found?

body.view-article img { display: inline; }

Again, thanks a lot for your help, much appreciated!

I'm sure I'll be back :-)

Regards,

Pim

Hi Pim,

Thank you for your message. I’m glad to hear that everything is working well and that the explanation was helpful. Yes, the code snippet you mentioned in custom.css (body.view-article img { display: inline; }) is indeed the one applied.

You’re very welcome, and I’m always happy to assist. Looking forward to helping you again whenever needed!

Best regards
