When I try to add an item to Simple Portfolio I get this error message

Call to undefined method Joomla\Filesystem\File::getExt()

Also when I try to call the SP Simple Portfolio from a menu button it gives the same

Can you advise what I have done wrong please?

the site is: whatsonlincoln.com

I am using the same custom CSS settings for Simple Portfolio on hellolincoln.co.uk

thanks

Dan

Good news, I played a while, and Fixed.

I had to use older version of component 2.1, because somehow 2.2 works only in J5 and J6, and as you know J4.4 is not supported anymore since last year.

Please keep SP Simple Portfolio 2.1 until you have J4 and should be OK, deal.

Hi Dan,

Why is this happening?

  • Outdated Extension: You likely installed a extenson verson that hasn't been updated for Joomla 4/5.
  • Manual Migration: If you just upgraded your site, some custom code is still pointing to the old library structure.

If you have Joomla 5 or Joomla 6 please, uninstall current version, download SP Simple Portfolio 2.2.0 >> https://www.joomshaper.com/joomla-extensions/sp-simple-portfolio , install it and clear Joomla cache.

If your server by default cache files, please Clean file cache in Host Panel, too.

Interesting the whatsonlincoln.com site is a copy of the hellolincoln.co.uk site (which is working find) - the custom css we are using is as per the other site too -

.sp-simpleportfolio .sp-simpleportfolio-item .sp-simpleportfolio-info:hover{ background: #A39668 !important; } .sp-simpleportfolio .sp-simpleportfolio-item .sp-simpleportfolio-btns a:hover{ background: #A39668 !important; }

.sp-simpleportfolio .sp-simpleportfolio-item .sp-simpleportfolio-info{ background: #000000 !important; }

.sp-simpleportfolio .sp-simpleportfolio-item .sp-simpleportfolio-info h3>a{ color: white !important; } .sp-simpleportfolio-tags{ color: white !important; }

.sp-simpleportfolio .sp-simpleportfolio-item .sp-simpleportfolio-info h3>a { font-size: 18px !important; }

@media (max-width: 991px) {

sp-header.full-header-center .menu-with-offcanvas #offcanvas-toggler {

display: flex !important;

}

sp-menu.menu-center .sp-megamenu-wrapper {

justify-content: right;

}

sp-menu .sp-column{

flex-direction: row-reverse;

}

}

.sp-simpleportfolio .sp-simpleportfolio-item .sp-simpleportfolio-info h3>a { line-height: 22px !important; }

Sorry, but I don't see a relation with CSS vs PHP errors?

If that site is clone, sometimes, simple component reinstall may help.

Sometimes, problem is caused by PHP settings.
