I managed to figure out the first thing: If you do not set the sliders "Slider Animation Style" (which I hadn't since I dont want any style, I just want to go from one slide to the next) - then the slider stops working - which is strange since it is an option to "clear settings"

I'll have a look at why the animation inside the slides continues even though I have deactivated everything. (On my main page it works - so I'll see if I can spot any differences in the settings)
