Hi guys,

I see this message on website www.haarstudiowoensel.nl Two days ago I updated the Joomla version to 5.4.5 I tried to place a backup of two weeks ago thru cPanel's JetBackup, but that made no difference.

The /administrator gives the same message.

What to do now?

Kind regards, Edze de Boer

Hi Edze,

Thank you for reaching out, and I’m sorry for the inconvenience you’re experiencing.

Since the issue persists even after restoring a backup and is affecting both the frontend and the /administrator area, it is likely related to a server-level configuration, extension conflict, or an incomplete update process.

To investigate this further and provide an accurate resolution, could you please share your server access details (cPanel/hosting panel)? This will allow us to review the error logs, verify the Joomla setup, and identify the root cause more efficiently.

We appreciate your patience and understanding, and we’ll do our best to resolve this as quickly as possible.

Kind regards

Hoi Edze,

if I may....

  1. JCE does not belong to Us (this is toolbar for textarea). Uninstall package, check, if will be Ok, then INSTALL a new version of JCE 2.9.99+ : https://www.joomlacontenteditor.net/downloads
  2. Update Joomla, now is using J5.3.4 (from Sep 2025) and this is not the best idea!
  3. Update SP Page Builder from 6.0.0 to 6.3.2
  4. There are more ...

The webmaster hasn't touched that site in months! So, I’m honestly not surprised that you and the client are running into issues. I think you'll agree with me—it's like owning a car: if you keep pouring in gasoline but never change the oil, tires or check the engine, eventually, it’s going to start making weird noises. A website (Joomla) needs a little love too ;)

Hi Paul,

Thank you, yes I have replaced the JCE Editor and the SP PageBuilder. Now everything looks fine again.
