Text Limit For Smart Search In Article Built With SPP ?

Hi, problem: when I create an article with SPP, and populate it with several widget text, it appears that only the first part of the text is indexable, like if when I push the save button, SPP saves some parts of that text in the "joomla intro text" and leaves the other. I tested it, if I insert a particular unique keyword in the first text widgets, it gets indexed, it I insert it in the last widgets of the article page, it won't be indexed.

Is there some parameter to change to make the whole article indexable?

Hi,

Thanks for your question. This is a known limitation with Joomla Smart Search (Finder) when using SP Page Builder. SPPB content is stored as JSON and rendered dynamically, so Smart Search may only index part of the content (often the intro section). There is no setting in SPPB to control full indexing.

✅ What you can do

  • Place important keywords in the top section (best practice anyway)

  • Rebuild the Smart Search index (Components → Smart Search → Index)

  • Make sure no content is hidden by tabs/JS

  • Optionally test with Joomla default search or third-party SEO/search extensions

Search engines like Google usually index the full page, but Joomla Smart Search can miss deeper SPPB content.
