The embed code for YouTube works, but it displays the player controls for a few seconds. How can those be removed? https://www.stmaur.ac.jp/ [sorry for doubling up my question, but your forum will not validate my edit on my previous question]

こんにちは、

When using YouTube player, you have to be prepared for compromises, like with the weather. Only the paid version of Vimeo offers more customization options, or using .mp4 file.

BTW

Robosumo (made from Lego bricks) Challenge looks fantastic of school photos. I wish to see whole video from it ;]

Hi,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

Unfortunately, there is no control over this from our side. YouTube player controls is handled by YouTube itself and can still appear momentarily.

At this time, there is no supported method in SP Page Builder to completely prevent that behavior, since we only embed the YouTube link as an iframe and do not have direct control over the YouTube player interface.

Thank you for your understanding.

Best Regards,

Thank you both. Yes, I know embedding puts us at the mercy of YouTube's layout choices (I don't recall that it used to do that before, they must have changed somehting), but because Vimeo stopped working (C.f. my other post), I had to default to YouTube for now.

I'm thinking about uploading the mp4 on our server, but I would image in that it would result in substantially slower loading times since we don't have YouTube's gazillions of mirrors.

Paul, yes, the RoboSumo event was fun. Unfortunately, I did not get to shoot it this time. Next year I hope.

About Video speed, it depends on server speed and size of video. If most people browse the website thru Smartphone, size of video doesn't have to be big, for example, 680px (resolution) should be OK, and it means less MB to load. I would try with one video (6-9MB) and check results.

BTW

Consider adding Web Accessibilty Widget, just in case of.
