Selixo - Not Able To Select A Standard Image In Articles

Hello, I am using articles for catalogue listings and SP Pagebuilder integration in the Selixo template. As the facility is unavailable in articles for assigning an article to multiple categories, I am looking at using a third-party Smart Content Filter to achieve this.

My issue is that I need to be able to use an Intro Image, or Full Image. The only option available is a Featured Image and this doesn't display in the content filter extension. Can you please help me gain access to an Intro Image or Full Image normally available? Thank you.

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out and for explaining your use case.

Please note that our component is designed and implemented to work with the standard Joomla article functionality. As such, it is not designed to provide or modify data specifically for third-party extensions or their custom implementations.

Since your setup relies on a third-party Smart Content Filter extension, we are unable to provide support or guarantee compatibility for how it retrieves or displays article images.

Thank you for your understanding.

Hi Atick, Thanks for your response. In the meantime I have discovered "Frontend Images and Links" under the Articles Options and set to Show. I see that this is meant to enable the Intro and Full Images options in the Images and Links tab in Joomla 5 for both the frontend and backend. Unfortunately, it seems in Joomla 6 it is only in the frontend. This is a nuisance in itself, but when you are populating the image using dynamic content in this template, I can't see a way to replace the feature image with an intro image. I can only see that you can change the source to intro image - even though I had changed the Blog article image from featured to intro image.

Can you please explain how this is meant to work if I want to change the dynamic field to Intro image - although seemingly impossible in the backend, but how is it meant to work via the frontend? Thank you.

Hi,

Thank you for your detailed explanation and for sharing your findings.

The Featured Image field used by our templates is provided by Helix Ultimate, and all of our templates are designed to use this field for displaying article images. This approach allows us to apply the template-specific image handling and functionality that we require.

The Joomla Intro Image and Full Article Image are native Joomla article fields, and we do not have control over how those fields are managed or exposed. As a result, our templates are not designed to use them as a replacement for the Helix Ultimate Featured Image in dynamic content.

For this reason, changing the dynamic image source to the Joomla Intro Image or Full Article Image is not supported by the template.

Thank you for your understanding.

Hi Atick Thanks for your response. I ended up creating an Image Custom Field and assigning the Image Source as Custom Field and this is working fine and eliminates the limitation in the template setup.
