Switching From Helix3 To Ultimate

SS

Saint Maur International School

Template 1 month ago

It is my understanding that Helix 3 is an older template, and had recent security risks. Therefore, I have moved my website over to Ultimate. My question is, may I uninstal all Helix 3 Extensions?

  • Helix3 - Ajax Site
  • System - Helix3 Framework
  • shaper_helix3 Thanks!

Hi,

Sorry but that addon is mostly not supported, all those same features you can find in Feature addon. Please use it instead.

CTA was used in older versions of SPPB only, and now it may not work.

Best regards,

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out.

Yes, if you have completely migrated to Helix Ultimate and no longer have any Helix3-based templates assigned or in use, you can uninstall the Helix3 extensions.

The following extensions belong to the old Helix3 framework:

  • Helix3 - Ajax
  • System - Helix3 Framework
  • shaper_helix3 template

Helix Ultimate is a separate framework and does not require any of the Helix3 extensions.

Before uninstalling them, we recommend taking a full backup of your website. Also, please make sure that no installed template or extension on the site still depends on Helix3.

You can then disable the Helix3 extensions first and test both the frontend and administrator area. If everything continues to work correctly, you can uninstall them.

Best regards,

Thanks for the response. I have done some testing and realized that although things work, the Call to Action SP Page Builder element is no longer working. Is there a way to get it to work with Ultimate? Thanks
