If I may... from my expirence:

If you have Joomla 3.10 you don't have to update SPPB. Keep 3.8.10 as you have, then upgrade to Joomla 4. Ignore Joomla warnings(!). Then having fully working Joomla 4 update everything to new versions, SPPB included. And will be OK. I done it 3 times in last week, works!

Thank you all for your responses, however I'm still having huge issues updating Joomla from 3.10.12 to 4.4.14

With error reporting set to maximum, it appears the issue is now with my Helix Framework (I am currently running 1.1.3 and shaper_helixultimate 1.1.4). When I try to update to the latest version before upgrading Joomla, it tells me I must be running php 8.1, however Joomla 3.10.12 only runs on 7.4

An error has occurred. 0 Composer detected issues in your platform: Your Composer dependencies require a PHP version ">= 8.1.0". You are running 7.4.33.

I'm pulling my hair out!!! Already I've had to completely rebuild 3 of my clients sites from the ground up because of these issues.

Hi All,

I have resolved the issue by uninstalling the Helix Framework and Helix Ultimate template, then upgrading to Joomla 6 before reinstalling Helix.

It might not be the ideal way of doing things, but after having to reinstall a backup on 6 attempts, at least I have made progress.

In Helix templates, you can export settings, then import them.

In most cases you can only disable Helix (template & plugin), switch to default Joomla template, then upgrade Joomla etc.

Those are popular hacks used by J! experts. But If your method worked, that's also OK.
