Lots Of Rror Messages In Console

SP Page Builder 1 week ago

I have a fairly simple website: www.newyorkhotdogs.nl

Joomla5, Helix Ultimate, SP Pagebuilder 6.6.2.

But the page is very slow to load. And the console gives a lot of errors, which all seem related to SP Pagebuilder. See here: https://prnt.sc/zb4SvpyKtffb

I already purged the CSS in SPPagebuilder settings, but that did not change anything.

What is going on?

Hi,

Thank you for sharing the details.

Please follow the troubleshooting steps in our documentation below, particularly the section on how to clean an infected Joomla 4/5/6 site:

SP Page Builder Troubleshooting Guide

After following the steps, please check the browser console and page loading speed again. If the issue persists, please let us know the result so we can investigate further.

Thank you!

Sorry, this is a bit too easy!! This particular website has not been infected by the virus lately.

Most of the errors have to do with css files in the folder /media/com_sppagebuilder/assets/iconfont

But this folder does not exist.

I already found the source of the problems: there were many strange custom icons in Pagebuilder. After that I deleted them, problem solved.

The actual files that the icons referred to, were not tehre anymre. I assume the virus scanner of my ISP has deleted them.

Yes, since there are no files in the directories, but the related entries may still be present in the database, this could be causing the console errors.

As mentioned in our documentation, there is a scanner available that can help identify these issues. You can download the latest version of the scanner from the Dist folder and run a scan on your website. Hopefully, the scanner will identify the issues and allow you to fix them.

Please let us know the results after running the scan.

Thank you!

Hoi,

I can confirm, this is sign of old infection. Not typical virus, just crappy extra files that you should delete.

Read my guide: https://www.joomshaper.com/documentation/sp-page-builder/troubleshooting#how-to-clean-an-infected-joomla-4x-6x-site
