What are Joomshaper's AI Roadmap Features?

The web is entering a major transition. Many industry leaders predict that within five to seven years, AI agents could generate more website traffic and interactions than humans.
We are already seeing people with no programming experience build polished, functional websites in minutes using AI. While these sites are often built with static HTML and remain dependent on AI for updates, the speed and accessibility they offer represent a serious challenge to mature content management systems such as Joomla.
I have extensively integrated AI and MCP servers into my own company’s operations, and the results have been transformative. Based on that experience, I believe immediate action is necessary to ensure that SP Page Builder remains relevant and competitive.
An MCP server exists for Joomla, but it cannot currently work with SP Page Builder. This is a critical limitation. If AI agents cannot access and control SP Page Builder, they may simply bypass it and generate custom add-ons or complete page layouts themselves. Resolving this blocker should be treated as a strategic priority—not merely another feature request.
Templates must also be designed for an agent-driven web. They should implement modern structured data and schema standards so AI systems can accurately understand, navigate, recommend, and interact with websites. This is becoming even more important as companies such as Visa and OpenAI develop agentic commerce frameworks that will allow AI agents to make purchases on behalf of users.
I would prioritize three initiatives immediately:
- Develop comprehensive MCP support for SP Page Builder and its templates.
- Ensure all templates are structured, accessible, and optimized for AI agents.
- Remove the OpenAI lock-in by supporting custom OpenAI-compatible router URLs and API tokens.
Once these foundations are in place, the marketing strategy should shift decisively toward positioning SP Page Builder and its templates as AI-ready, AI-friendly, and built for the agentic web.
This is an opportunity to lead the market—but the window to establish that leadership is narrowing quickly.

Here's where SP Page Builder stands today on the points you raised:
1. AI providers (the OpenAI lock-in) SP Page Builder is no longer tied only to OpenAI. The built-in AI Text and Image Generator also supports Google Gemini (Gemini 3.1 Flash Lite and Gemini 2.5 Flash). You can switch providers under SP Page Builder > Settings > Generative AI. Custom OpenAI-compatible endpoints (a router or base URL with your own token) aren't supported yet. We've logged that as a feature request.
2. Structured data for AI systems Since v6.5.0, SP Page Builder pages support Schema.org structured data through Joomla's System - Schema.org plugin. Open Page Settings > Schema, pick a schema type and fill in the fields. SP Page Builder then adds the structured data to the page automatically. 3. MCP support for SP Page Builder You're right that the existing Joomla MCP server can't work with SP Page Builder content right now. SP Page Builder stores its page layouts as its own structured data, not as standard Joomla article text. There's no MCP integration available or announced yet. I've passed your points to our product team as a high-priority request:
- An MCP server, or an API that agents can use, to control SP Page Builder pages and templates
- Templates built with AI agents in mind (structured data, accessibility, easy for machines to read)
- Support for custom OpenAI-compatible API endpoints and tokens

If SP Page Builder gets an MCP capable of control all aspects of the system, it will be one of the most impactful features ever released. It will enable rapid building and management of websites from anywhere a user has access to their AI agent.
I could be out and about and have an idea for a new page for my website, and tell my Hermes agent to go build it would be live in minutes.
This is a future I and many others want.
