Hi Klaus,

Thanks for reaching out, and for the link to your page.

I checked your FAQs page. The article title links ("Was ist UV-Beständigkeit bei PE …", etc.) and the "weiterlesen …" links all have anchor text. The links without text are the thumbnail image links. The Articles addon wraps each article's image in a link to the article. That link contains only the image and no text, so many SEO checkers flag it as "link without anchor text".

For a linked image, Google treats the image's alt text like anchor text. All 21 thumbnails on your page already have good alt texts, so this isn't a real SEO problem. To clear the warning anyway, you have two options:

Option 1 – Hide the linked thumbnail (no coding)

  1. Open the FAQs page in SP Page Builder and edit the Articles addon.
  2. Go to General → Article Media and turn on Hide Thumbnail.
  3. Save the page.

I tested this on our side. With this option enabled, the addon no longer outputs any links without text.

Option 2 – Keep the images
Make sure every article's intro image has a meaningful Image Description (Alt Text). You set this in the Joomla article editor → Images and Links tab. Your current images already have one, so you can safely ignore the warning.

To make sure we're solving the right thing, could you tell us:

  1. Which tool reported the missing anchor text (e.g. Semrush, Ahrefs, Seobility, Screaming Frog)?
  2. A screenshot of the warning, or one or two of the URLs it lists?

If the warning is about something other than the thumbnail links, we'll check that right away.

Hi Klaus,

Thanks for the details. That clears it up.

Semrush isn't saying the links have no anchor text. It's saying the anchor text is not descriptive. The "weiterlesen …" links all have the same generic text, so Semrush can't tell from the link text what page each one points to. That's why you see 42 warnings (one per article, counted on each page/language where the addon is used).

Each article title on that page already links to the same article, using the real title as anchor text. So the "weiterlesen" link is a second, generic link to the same URL. The simplest fix is to remove it:

  1. Open the FAQs page in SP Page Builder and edit the Articles addon.
  2. In the General tab, scroll down to Show Readmore and turn it off.
  3. Save the page. Do the same for the English FAQs page (/en/home/faqs) if it uses its own Articles addon.

Visitors can still open every article by clicking its title (and the thumbnail), and the titles give Semrush descriptive anchor text.

Changing the Readmore Text field won't fix the warning. It sets the same text for every article, so the links would still be generic.

Once you've saved the change, run the Semrush site audit again and the warning should be gone. Let us know if any links are still flagged.

Hi Rashida,

Thank you.
On the german site it is ok.
On the english site a have a problem.
I got the message "No items found"
If i change the category to the german version it works.
But not with the english version.
Must be a language problem, or something else.

Any idea?

Regards

Klaus

Hi Klaus,

I checked both pages on your live site just now:

  • https://www.polymersynthese.com/home/faqs → 21 German articles
  • https://www.polymersynthese.com/en/home/faqs → 21 English articles

Both lists render correctly and the "weiterlesen …" links are gone, so the Semrush warnings should disappear on the next crawl.

Since the English page is working on the frontend, one detail would help: where exactly do you see "No items found" — in the SP Page Builder editor while editing the page, or on the live page in a normal browser tab?

If it is only in the editor, the page itself is fine — save and check the frontend.

If you see it on the live page, please check in the Joomla admin that the English FAQ articles and their category have Language = English (en-GB) or All and are Published, and that the English FAQs menu item is also set to Language = English. Quick test: set one English article to Language All (*) — if it then appears, the language assignment is the cause.

A screenshot of the Articles addon settings on the English page would also help.

Hi,
The error comes in frontend editor.
I changed site language to all, but no changes.
But i can edit the site with backend editor.
No major problem.

Hi Klaus,

Good to hear the backend editor works — that's a reliable way to edit this
page, and the saved output is identical either way.

The "No items found" in the frontend editor looks like a language-context
limitation of the editor rather than a problem with your page. Both FAQ
lists render all 21 articles on the live site and no "weiterlesen …" links
are left, so the Semrush count should drop on the next crawl.

Could you send your Joomla and SP Page Builder version numbers? I'd like to
reproduce this on a multilingual test install and report it to our
developers so the frontend editor picks up the English category correctly.
