Redirect Plugin Not Working

Lots of pain ona dev site that was about to launch. The joomla redirect plugin will not work, it does not record 404s etc.. But if I go into the admin and disable sppagebuilder component... it all works
Switch back on and it doesn not. On the latest helix 2.0.4, sppagebuilder 3.7.14 and joomla 3.10.2
I tried moving the redirect plugin to first but that did not help
If you go to admin, disable the sppagebuilder component, the site will be broken but the redirects will work, collecting and then doing the rules, enable sppagebuilder, site looks fine but the redirects do not work

Accepted AnswerI read that others had had the issue, I reverted your code to the previous
return JError::raiseError(404, 'Page not found'); And it all works.. Thas a morning of my life I will never get back ! ;(
