SPPB - Frontend Edit Icons Missing

Hi there, On J4 with all latest stable version, Helix and SPPB everything works, but when I add my security - Akeeba Admin Tools and create the custom .htacccess security:

  1. The fontend editing icons disappear - https://prnt.sc/1utmvn6 - missing here https://prnt.sc/1utndv4
  2. the admin template formatting disappears - https://prnt.sc/1utn3oa

Usually I am able to add a list of - Allow direct access, including .php files, to these directories:

e.g: /templates/shaper_helixultimate

What path do I need to allow for all icons and css for the backend and frontend SPPB to show? is there a media directory to allow?

When I revert to core .htaccess all reappears. So it is identifying what folders the .htaccess needs access to for all SPPB functionality?

Thanks Britt

Hi Toufiq,

Can you please let me know what template or media path/directory's the missing icons and UI need to be able to function.

I simply need these paths to add to Admin Tools as an exception. Akeeba do not have the answer to what template files SPPB relies on?

Usually I am able to add a list of template requirements as shown again below and outlined in my original message above.

e.g: /templates/shaper_helixultimate

Thanks Britt

Hi Britt,

Did you end up finding an solution to this?

We are having the same issue. It seems the Admin Tools htaccess is blocking our front end editing icons too.

It is very frustrating!!

Thanks in advance.

Hi Nick,

Yes I did, after a lot of time not getting any help here, I eventually found the solution.

So if you are adding your own .htaccess marker in Akeeba Admin Tools - you need to add the following exceptions.

Look for: 'Allow direct access, including .php files, to these directories:'

Then add these two new items:

administrator/components/com_sppagebuilder

components/com_sppagebuilder

https://prnt.sc/1y3i1li

This works for me, if it does for you also - perhaps Joomshaper can add this to the documentation somewhere.

Hope that helps Britt

Fantastic Nick, Glad its helped and saved time :)

Thanks Toufig, it would be great if you can add in trouble shooting documents.

This is the solution for developers using Akeeba Admin Tools and the .htaccess marker for site security.

Cheers Britt

I also want to thank you from my side, I will add this tip into SPPB documentation in the next minutes.

BTW

I also have "headaches" by Akeeba Tools when it locks me, when I, for example, change password for the User in admin area or doing something basic and I forgot to add my IP as trused, madness. I know it's good software but sometimes it drives us all crazy, like you saw with missing icons.
