The space between the menu (header) and the content top as well as the space between the menu header item and the first item on the dropdown are both unusually large. How do I correct that. We are ready to take the site live but for those problems. See new.uniteduga.com.

Please check the screenshots below. One is from your site, another is from the helix ultimate preview from Joomshaper's site. The gap you have mentioned between menu header item & dropdown item - is by design. If you want to reduce the gap you can change it by using custom css. I have highlighted the css rule that is generating the gap. You can add a "padding-top" rule of your choice for these elements -> ".sp-megamenu-parent .sp-dropdown .sp-dropdown-inner".
