[2.0.6] Featured MenuItem Type - No Columns - More Items Display Inline

The MenuItem FEATURED ARTICLES has two issues:

  1. COLUMNS parameter does not work. Seem to be an outdated override.
  2. LINKS (More Items) display horizontal inline. The respective sublayout has no proper Bootstrap classes.

Applies to Joomla 4. Second issue applies to Joomla 3 only.

The error description is quite clear. Some more details in the Github issue...

The FETAURED ARTICLES menuItem type does not work correctly. It should behave and display like the usual CATEGORY BLOG menuItem. It has the same COLUMNS parameter and the same LINKS parameter.

How to re-create:

  1. Try to create a FEATURED ARTICLES MenuItem.
  2. Set number of INTRO ARTICLES to 2, 4, or 6
  3. Set it to have 2 or MORE COLUMNS
  4. Set More Items LINKS to 2 or 99

And you will see the result and issues:

  • 1 column display only, everything is stacked vertical
  • More Items/Links are displayed inline, horizontal
