Last Helix 3 Update Trash

Helix Framework 3 years ago

Your last Helix update is total trash. It stopped my Unite slider from working at all either just placed in a template or through pagebuilder. I have the newest Joomla and Unite slider. I also had anchors in my page builder site in which my menu items linked to and scrolled to and that is also trashed. What the hell are you guys doing? It seems every time you release something it has major issues with it. On another site two header logos showed up. Both the regular and mobile logos appear. They also have the exact same classes applied so you can't hide one and show it only on mobile. I had all these sites working perfectly and now this. Total noob coding.

This is the slider issue https://quatroentertainment.com/

go fix it.

I have to revert back to the old Helix version with my backup since you refuse to fix this.

Has this been fixed? I went up to that site and didn't see any new update since the update that I applied.

I will also note that if I use the built in Protostar Joomla tempate the site runs without any issues.

Hi Gary,

I am also fan of "the Simon & Garfunkel" music .

The last Helix3 update we made huge changes to prepare template for Joomla 4, also we upgraded Bootstrap.

I think the best way would be to contact with Unite slider developer and ask him about problems. Maybe it used old methods like mootools to slide images etc. On the current website I see only problem with slider, menu still works.

You can always install older version of template and keep it by now. It's like with the music, sometimes it's worth to keep old record.

On other websites, make test with Helix3 2.0.1 version, this is the last one.

Hi all, I got similar problems and then I reverted to previous 2.5.6 Maybe you (Paul) can suggest us the steps in a safe way to update the site to next Helix Ultimate and Joomla4? This considering also the necessity to avoid any SEO problem. Regards Renzo

I strongly recommend wait with Joomla 4 upgrade, rush is not recommened in particular if you have many different extensions. Joomla 4.1 should be soon.

It shouldn't be any SEO problems because all content and navigation structure will be still this same.

I already contacted Unit Slider developers and they blame your template. They say there is nothing from their side they can do with any fixes. They say that your template is running several javascript errors. So once again I am caught between two developers that are accusing each other of the problem and no fix. As I mentioned in my post, if I run protostar tempate made by Joomla, there is no issues and the slider runs. I am also NOT on Joomla 4. I won't even think about upgrading Joomla 4 for another year. I want Joomla to figure out all their issues first and fix hackers holes before I upgrade.

I also don't understand why I would downgrade Helix 3 to 2 when what I had installed version 3 and ran for years and now this update. Where can I find the version of Helix just before this last version of 3 to revert back to?

From your website backup - you should have it. Those are just files.
