News365 and Joomla4

Greetings!

Looking forward to upgrading our site to Joomla 4 on php8.

We use the news365 template and like it just fine but getting errors with php8.0.

Following is repeated 8 times just below the main menu and above the scrolling latest headlines.

Error is: Warning: Undefined variable $readmore_text in /var/www/FQDN/templates/shaper_news365/sppagebuilder/addons/articles/site.php on line 168

Is there an update for this template for php8?
PHP 8.0.14
Joomla 3.10.4
Pagebuilder 3.8.3
Shaper_news365 2.1

Thanks much, really like the template and plan to stay with it if possible.

Hello jjensenlcn

It is an old template and hence it might not support PHP 8. Please go to this location: templates/shaper_news365/sppagebuilder/addons/articles and replace site.php file with the attached file. You need to unzip the file and then replace.

site.php.zip

Hopefully, it will solve it.

Are there plans to update news_365 for Joomla4?

Hopefully, it will be updated to Joomla 4. We are working on Helix3 based template to update to Joomla 4. But, I cannot guarranty you or give you an estimated date. It is better if you could manage any Helix Ultimated based template. They are already updated to Joomla 4. Newsberg template could be a good alternative.

Nuts, the news365 template got updated but this thing persists.

running php 8.2 this repeats 9 times on the homepage.

php8.2
Joomla 4.4.13
SPPB 5.5.7

If I downgrade php to 8.1 I get a bad gateway.

Any suggestions?

Please go to your home page and check Articles addon. If you have set Read More to show, then you must set Read More Text. If you keep Read More Text blank, then this warning will appear on the page.
