Joomla articles render as blank with Helix Ultimate 2.2.6

Asked by Bryan van Putten 3 months ago Last activity 3 months ago

The surrounding template and modules load, but the sp-component area is empty. Disabling the SP Page Builder content and system plugins has no effect.

Renaming the folder /templates/shaper_helixultimate/html/com_content/article/ to article-disabled, immediately restores all articles by allowing Joomla’s native article layout to load.

Could you confirm whether this is a known issue in Helix Ultimate 2.2.6 and advise on the correct permanent fix?

Environment: Joomla 5.4.6, Helix Ultimate 2.2.6 and PHP 8.4.21.

Hi,

First of all, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused.

Based on the behavior you've described, it appears that your server may be running Imunify360 with the automatic malware cleanup feature enabled.

We are aware of an issue where the security scanner incorrectly identifies certain Helix Ultimate files as malicious and automatically removes portions of their code. This is a false positive, and the modified or removed files can result in the blank article content area you are experiencing.

We can confirm that there is no security vulnerability in these Helix Ultimate files. You can also refer to the following forum discussion, where other users have reported the same behavior:

As a temporary solution, we recommend reinstalling the Helix Ultimate plugin to restore the affected files. However, if Imunify360 continues to perform automatic cleanup, the issue may reoccur until the false positive is addressed.

We are trying to contact the Imunify360 team to help resolve this false detection. In the meantime, if possible, please whitelist the affected Helix Ultimate files or disable the automatic cleanup feature for them.

We truly appreciate your patience and understanding while we work with the security vendor to resolve this matter permanently.

Thank you.
