Helix 3 Broke My Menu

Helix Framework 3 years ago

I'm noticing a lot of complaints about the recent Helix 3 upgrade, and I have to add to them. I updated Helix3 on my site, and the menu structure went completely awry. It was so bad, I had to install from a backup. You can see before an after in the links I've placed in the hidden content.

The only way I could make the site even usuable was to turn off the main menu and rely solely upon the off-canvas, and even that wasn't working well.

Hello Randy Garbin

Apology for the inconvenience. Please wait for the template update. Uninstall System - Helix3 Framework plugin 3.0.0 or 3.0.1 whichever you have installed and install Helix3 2.5.8 plugin. I have attached it below.

Best regards

I know it's been a while, but that's how long I waited until applying this update. Unfortunately, it did not correct my problem.

I have a backup, but I'm hoping you can correct this before I have to resort to that. Thanks.

What is your exact issue here? Please share a screenshot of your issue to understand it better. Also share your administrator access here to check the issue. Use the Hidden Content box to share the credentials. Make sure that you have a full site backup with you before sharing.

Please go to http://devfix.montcolp.org/ to see what's happening. This was the problem at the outset. The site without the Helix upgrade looks like it does here:

Thanks for your help.

Apology for the inconvenience. There are issues with the template. I have forwarded the issues to the developer team. Please uninstall the latest System - Helix3 Framework plugin and install Helix3 2.5.8 plugin. I have attached it below.

I have corrected this on your dev site. It is working fine.

Thanks for the help. Since I've already restored the site from a backup, I'm going to leave this dev site running for when a solution arrives. Thing is, I have two other sites running on Helix3, and I'm afraid to upgrade those as well. They aren't running the exact same template, but I'm going to hold off just in case.

Yes, you can just check and let us know if you found any issues. For updating, check that the template version is updated to Joomla 4. If we have already updated the template to Joomla 4, then you can update both the template and Helix3 system plugin. There should not be any issues.

For template HOPE, it is a different case. We have updated the template but somehow we missed the issue. It will be fixed soon with a template update. Till then do not update Helix3 system plugin.
