Now there is only a search box instead of the original button from which the search feature opened. This happened, when I upgraded from 2.7 to 3.0.

When I checked the mod_search override there was a file topsearch.php in addition to the default.php file. After renaming the topsearch.php to default.php, the wrapper is rendered in the template. But now the search box is missing from the wrapper, when it is clicked open.

After clearing browser cache the traditional search box still persists and educon style search feature is missing. Sorry, I do not want to share login details, because the site is confidential (GDPR related).

Checking Educon demo page the template seems to make a wrapper around the search form. But there is no such wrapper in my template after upgrading to Educon 3.0. Should I do something additional, when I assign a search module to a position, to get the wrapper rendered?

The solution was to set 'educon-top-search' as module class suffix in the search module's advanced settings. This is required in version 3.0 of Educon template. In Educon 2.7, the search module's class suffix was 'top-bar-search'. That is why the search wrapper was not working after upgrading from 2.7 to 3.0.
