I wsa testing the upgrade of one of my sites https://www.maxitools.nl. Before the upgrade it worked well (just only the comming soon page). After the upgrade tha age is not working.

Cleared cache of the browser and Joomla. Even when I go to the settings of the template, the page is not loaded.

It running on Joomla: 4.1.5 and php 8.0.21

19-08-2022: I have not upgrade to Joomla 4.2.0 due to the fact that joomla disabled the autoupgrade for thar version (see: https://www.joomla.org/announcements/release-news/5865-joomla-4-2-release.html under section upgrade).

Could it be that this new version only working on joomla 4.2.0 due the the authentication issue?

Hi there,

Thanks for contacting us. Sorry for the inconvenience. Please create an staging site before update major release.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ms8hPQfM3xfF4XUO0W4pUZAhzGUqxBwD/view

  1. Create a subdomain from your cPanel
  2. Export your existing site Database from PHPMyAdmin
  3. Create a new Database
  4. Import the existing Database to the new Database
  5. Update configuration.php file
  6. Go to the administrator of the staging site

Then update Helix & Joomla latest version. Then check & let me know.

-Thanks

Hello Toufiq,

Nice speech about using a staging. Somthing I normaly do but in this case totaly irrlevant because this is only a default joomla site with the Helix temaplate and comming soon active. Nothing else.

Joomla is and was up-2-date, Helix I updated. If I make this in staging then it will be an exactly copy with the same result.

You can reproduce it as follow:

  • Login at the backend
  • Settings in the helix template you can't save. You will see an enless route.
  • Go to the frondend and you will see also and error
  • If logout in the administrator part, you will see the correct page.

As far as I can see Helix is doing something wrong with the user crediential check. This has been proven by:

  • Loged-in on the backend goto the frondend and give an error.
  • Loged-in on the backend goto to the helix settings. This will also give an error in Helix preview.
  • If you logout the page is visible on the frontend.

Hope this makes it more clear.
