Hi,

After the recent update to Helix Ultimate Framework v2.2.8 and Helix Ultimate Tempate v2.2.8, my template overrides are no longer working.

The override was copied from:

/plugins/system/helixultimate/overrides/com_content/article/default.php

and copied to:

/templates/shaper_helixultimate/html/com_content/article/escorted-tour.php

The affected articles have Layout = escorted-tour selected under the Options tab.

Has Helix Ultimate v2.2.8 or Joomla v6.1.2 changes the way the overrides are supposed to work?

Thanks for your help.

Thanks for all your help on this.

It turns out the issue was introduced in Joomla 5.4.7 and Joomla 6.1.2.

For details, see: https://manual.joomla.org/updates/60-61/known-issues/6.1.2/

Until Joomla v5.4.8 and v6.1.3 are released, the workaround is to revert the changes introduced by PR #47752 by installing the following hotfix via System → Install → Extensions:

update.joomla.org/hotfix/Joomla_5_4_7_and_6_1_2_ArticleModel_Hotfix1.zip

Before making any changes, create a full backup and test the hotfix on a staging or test site.

Hi there,

Thank you for reaching out, and I apologize for any inconvenience caused by this oversight. Your layout wasn't selected.

Thanks for investigating for me.

Changing the default layout in the Article Options only helps for the articles with the "escorted-tour" template override but there are also two other template overrides (in addition to the default layout which is used by most of the articles).

The layout has previously been selected by editing the article and choosing the layout for the particular article under the "Options" tab. (Layout = "Default", "escorted-tour", "golf-course", or "golf-destination").

Or at least that worked until the most recent updates.

What am I missing?

Thanks for your help.
