Saving SP Page Builder 3.8.9 Pages are Timing Out

SP Page Builder 3 years ago

When I try to make a change to an SP Page Builder page by clicking the Save or Save and Close button a spinning circle starts going around and around but it never stops spinning.

It does not seem to matter which page, which row, etc... I am unable to save anything. Although... it seems like the saving may actually be working but the indication is that it is not working. I hvae to click the "Close" button to force a quit.

Backend editor can't load the Page Builder resource properly. Please check the console error. It happens for your file or folder permission. For more details you need to contact hosting provider.

Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 500 (Internal Server Error)

I just realized that this might be happening because we have some articles that do not have Blog Images uploaded. I believe this may be causing the Page Builder modules to have errors. I think I will come back to address this ticket after I am sure that all of the articles have blog images.

It ends up that something within the Page Builder modules is causing the page timeouts. I just disabled every row and then I was able to Save or Save & Close the Page Builder pages again. Of course there is no content now. But, at least it is a clue to the problem.

Thank you very much Toufiq,

I am an old dog that needs to learn new tricks. In this case the trick is to use the front end editor instead of the backend editor. I just tried it and discovered that saving changes using the front end editor takes awhile but it does not time out. If I then go into the backend editor it times out. However, it appears that the changes still get made. I jus thave to force close the editor on the backend even though the Save or Save & Close button is still spinning.

You are welcome to try this out on my site if you want. However, it is an inconvenience I can live with. I am thinking it may still be because of the errors where many of the pages do not yet have a Blog Options Featured Image. We are still working on that.
