Current Menu To New Helix And Template

Hey there
Normally I use the preset installs but for this one site I am stuck just adding the template as the site already had a full database and some member software running.
I see no problem using the documentation to set up pages as shown. But the menu is eluding me.
I have added the home page to the Main Menu. The main menu module is in the menu position The Home Page settings in the Main Menu have Mega set to on
Why does the menu not show?
With one template i got it to show but it was just a lame text entry.. not at all like the template.
for now I have set the template to MegaInc for the sake of learning.
No documentation I can find gives me an idea how to get that part of the site set up.
Any help with this one issue would rock. Thank you in advance.

Thanks for contacting us.
Did you select your desired menu within the menu tab of your Template Options, please?
Basic settings don't have any demo content, only some very basic styles.
However, if you want you can download the template's basic settings and open it. Copy the code and put it in the template Import box then click on Import.
Note: Path towards Import Settings:
Extensions>Templates>Styles>
Click on your current default template name then choose Template Options.
Then find Import settings within the Advanced tab.

Accepted AnswerThis is FABULOUS information thank you. I'll be able to use this going forward and understand.
I did wind up installing the full demo version and moved the database over to that.. in order to save time but now better understand how the demo content is rooted.
( I did wind up with a whole new issue but have opened a new ticket for that)
