Cannot Save Pagebuilder Pages From Backend

SP Page Builder 3 years ago

Hello,

I have recently migrated to new host. That went smooth and all websites are running fine. However I have now noticed that I cannot save any sp pagebuilder pages from the back end. There is just a spinning circle when saving and will not save. I can point out that the issue does not affect the saving of any other element in joomla, such as joomla articles, modules, etc. All other items save fine. It is only the sp pagebuilder pages that refuse to save.

I am having this problem with all our websites now.

All sites are running joomla 3.10.11 latest version of sp pagebuilder for J3

If you could take a look I would be very grateful. I have provided super admin login credentials for one of the sites in the hidden content section below.

Hello Friends,

I have spend about 3 hours with support where I am hosting my sites, I have learned an interesting thing on the side that I thought I would add to this thread.

Although not the problem with being unable to save page builder pages, you can run into a similar issue if your host is running ModSecurity on their servers. Rarely, but still possible, your IP may be false flagged. If perchance you cannot update your site, or successfully upload a file that will update a plugin or component, this is something to consider checking. If is is shared hosting and not VPS, you will likely have to contact their support and ask them to whitelist the modsecurity rule in relation to your package. They wont whitelist your IP if on shared hosting.

Something I have learned from past experiences which would also cause some issues is when moving or recreating a joomla site, depending on how you upload and extract your files (via ssh) you may have ownership/group issues. If you have root access it is easy to correct this via chown.

Anyway, after trying a bunch of things, we were not able to resolve "the save problem" via my hosting platform support. I created this thread here at the joomshaper forum hoping someone would be familiar with this issue. Prior to creating it I did find and read similar issues for some people when editing on the frontend, but mine were coming from the backend.

Long story short, here is what has helped me:

1 System > Global Check in, then clear cache, and then clear expired cache regardless if there is anything visible. 2 Extensions > Manage > Update Sites > I chose to Rebuild All 3 Back To System > Global Check in, clear the new helixU file, and reclear all expired cache. 4 Over to sp page builder > pages > open and test any page. Successfully able to save.

Please note, just simply clearing cache in joomla > system doesnt seem to work and can through you off. For me it took all the above steps in this sequence. I feel somewhat confident to share this result as I have successfully followed these same steps on my other sites, and have had consistent positive results.

The big question is WHY this happens ONLY to sp page builder pages and not joomla articles, modules etc. That i am certainly unclear on.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but so far so good.

Hello yoquiltrucci,

For me I did the following:

System > Global Check in - checked in all items there then cleared all cache, and then clear expired cache

I chose to then go to Extensions > Manage > Update Sites and i updated anything joomshaper

Then i went back and repeated the steps with global checking, clearing all cache, and clearing expired cache.

If that doesn't seem to help, contact your web hosting support and ask them if they are using ModSecurity or something similar and whether that has false-flagged your IP. If so, they can fix that and you should be able to save once again in JoomShaper.

To my friends at JoomShaper. - There is something within your system that occassionally triggers these rules in ModSecurity. It does not happen in joomla articles etc. but does happen when using JoomShaper.

Thank you Douglas, I followed your steps of clearing everything you suggested but it doesn't worked for me.

i have to installed SP PageBuilder Pro latest version and it allowed me to save without issues.

Also contacted my hosting spport with this forum thread so they can help us in the future while Joomshaper fix this.

Have a great day
